Primarily, this video was produced for Vancouver Fashion Week. The length of the video was limited to a maximum of 9 minutes and 30 seconds, and it was very difficult to fit the showcases, intros and endings of the 11 designers into this length. Therefore, each clothing designer's work could be shown only 50 seconds each per a designer in the fashion show video, and we had to figure out how to show the creativity of the designers and the distinctive designs of the four outfits in those 50 seconds. It was also difficult to set up the time schedule, lighting at each location, and follow up on each designer's video. Every designer had a specific idea of how they wanted to show their clothes in the showcase, but due to the pandemic, we were not able to discuss the details directly with each designer before the shooting day as we would have liked. Thus, I suggested to the client that we split the shoot into three days: interview, fitting, and fashion show.
This allowed our team to shoot B-roll with impact at the fitting and have time for the showcase to discuss beforehand how to capture the details of the clothes.
